Ultraviolet light is part of the electromagnetic spectrum, and UV-C refers specifically to wavelengths between 200–280 nanometers, which fall within the germicidal range. The MUVGI-8 utilizes these short UV-C wavelengths to penetrate and disrupt the DNA and RNA of microorganisms, rendering them inactive and unable to reproduce.

 

Because UV-C radiation is largely absorbed by the Earth’s atmosphere, it does not naturally occur at ground level in significant quantities—making artificial UV-C devices like the MUVGI-8 a powerful tool for controlled disinfection.
